I founded reBuy.com when I was 17 years old. Rebuy became Germany's Re-commerce leader, raised ~40M€ and now employs about 450 employees, with annual revenues of about 70M€. Besides rebuy I co-invested in about a dozen companies from many industries. Optimizing rebuy's payouts by distributing our own gift cards was the spark for me to start OptioPay. Together with our wonderful team, I am now driven to unlock the great potential that lies within marketing liquidity. I am inspired by entrepreneurial habits and feel an urge to solve big problems through great customer-centric products and technology.
Already during my studies at Maastricht University, I was fascinated by technology and its power to transform the way we do business. I started my career working for big corporations in Germany, notably Porsche, which I left in 2012 to enter the start-up ecosystem. Working for Etruvian, a start-up incubator based in Gibraltar, I joined several different start-ups related to FinTech, EduTech & online gaming. I co-founded CasinoCheck.com which was acquired by PlayTech PLC in 2013. Meeting Marcus and Oliver at the initiation of their promising new venture has led me back to Berlin. At OptioPay I aim for users to have the very best experience using our product. Users will get the most out of their payments in terms of flexibility and value.
I started toying around with technology and software development while the dotcom bubble bursted in the early 2000s. My first e-commerce startup followed at the age of 18. In 2009 I moved to Berlin and worked as a software developer and team leader for successful companies like Unister and reBuy.com. I was CTO at the Berlin-based startup Casacanda which was later acquired by Fab.com. In 2013 I founded Wunderdata, a business intelligence tech company with a strong e-commerce focus. At OptioPay, my responsibility is the technological vision of the company. I am leading the IT department and am involved with product development.
I started my career in China, first working for a large German FMCG company in Shanghai and later joining a major international management consultancy. Following my fascination for the internet and all its potential, I joined Etruvian Holdings, a Gibraltar based startup incubator, in 2013. Working closely with Oliver, I helped building several startups in the online education, gaming and finance industry, before founding Onjo, an online based social trading platform. At OptioPay, I am responsible for the growth and internationalization of our product, always keeping in mind our main goal of enhancing the value of payments to customers and employees.
